Push Projects is a Warwick based charity that supports lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) youth. This is achieved through a range of services for young people and those who work with them, including social/support groups, telephone and email support, talks, workshops, consultancy and advocacy. Push Projects also organise the annual Warwickshire Pride festival that takes place in Leamington each summer, which aims to bring people from different communities together for a celebration of diversity. With 65% of LGBT youth experiencing bullying and 44% self-harming or attempting suicide, the services that Push Projects provide are a vital outlet for young people who are discriminated against and socially isolated just for being who they are.
By campaigning for equality on a local and national scale, Push Projects are working towards their aim of ensuring that all young people feel valued and included in society regardless of sexuality or gender identity.
